The American Dream of a huge house paid for with a full time job doesn’t appeal to everyone. I’m sure there have always been outliers that didn’t take to this dream, but it seems like more and more people are rejecting it. For many, the new dream isn’t centered on a house in the suburbs, but is instead centered around freedom.
That freedom could come by working less hours, finding work you enjoy, or by altering your housing situation. This article on Vice.com shares several stories of people that gave up living in a house or condo in favor of the freedom and mobility of living in a van.
