Much of the journey towards minimalism or simplicity is mental. It’s a process of unjunking your mind from the constant barrage of advertisements and people/friends/family telling us we need more stuff.
- Design a life that’s right for you.
- Ask yourself good questions, and not only about your physical possessions.
- Be open to change.
Be open to change is a big one. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across people that are resistant to change for no good reason at all. There are excuses made, but when it comes right down to it, the real excuse is fear – fear of change and fear of the unknown. Being open to change will open you to more that life has to offer, and is practically a requirement on the journey towards simple living and minimalism.
